From Celtic to Native American and Baltic, from classical to the edge of jazz and beyond, Braidstream is an eclectic mix of musical styles, backgrounds and cultures coming together to create a whole greater than the sum of it's parts. An evocative mixture of themes and dreams that will excite and inspire, Braidstream wraps the audience in an aural tapestry that elegantly blends the spirit of ancient recognition with bold innovation. With flutes, hammered dulcimer, guitar, sitar, cello, harp, keyboards, vocals and percussion, Braidstream melds classical and modern forms into an exciting weave that defies categorization.

 

 

Their exciting and eclectic music has been a major experience for visiting dignitaries and international visitors to the Western North Carolina mountains since 1985. Braidstream has been a featured performer in the internationally released "Christmas at the Biltmore Estate" filmed for HGTV and A&E channels. They have received rave reviews and standing ovations for their concerts at Deepak Chopra's Seminar series. They have performed at venues ranging from public elementary and high schools to the Diana Wortham Theater in Asheville; they have performed several times in concert with the Asheville Symphony, at many tri-state colleges and universities, at festivals and First Nights, and in many concert series performances as members of the North and South Carolina Touring Artists Roster.
