JEFF JOHNSON
guitar, sitar

After completing a 4 year enlistment in the US Marine Corps where he was trained as a linguist/cyrptologist/special radio operator, Jeff studied guitar at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland. Taking a 4 year hiatus from music, he moved to the backwoods of Madison County, North Carolina, and learned to chop wood and carry water. While he spends time in Asheville teaching, performing, lecturing, and acting as booking director for Braidstream, he still lives "off the grid" on the farm - growing asparagus, shitake mushrooms, and other foods and herbs. Jeff also studies the Sitar, Yoga, Tai-ji, and Eastern tonal systems, as well as the effect sound has on human experiences.
